International Players to watch out for in the 2021 Auctions

The Indian Premier League is perhaps the biggest and the most extravagant T20 cricketing carnival in the world.

Cricketing names from all over the world drop in their names every year to be a part of it in hopes of becoming a larger than life athlete whilst also earning a fortune in the process. Such an event of gigantic proportions calls for a yearly auction where the the players are bought by the interested franchises. This year, the IPL auctions will be held on the 18th of February.

With the list of the released players out, the teams would look forward to bolster their squad with the most suitable players according to their talent pools and financial capacity, so as to have a perfectly balanced squad with suffecient variety and quality.

Here is a list of 8 such foreign players who surely are in the "most-wanted" list of the aforementioned franchises.

1. MITCHELL STARC - What can I say about Mitch Starc that one doesn't know? He's perhaps the biggest name in this year's auction list. Starc has the potential to be the biggest ever purchase in the history of the IPL, given the sizes of the franchises' purse and his stature. The Australian fast-bowler is considered as one of the best bowlers in the world right now and will surely play a pivotal role for whichever team he plays for.

Expected Purchase Price Range : 12-16 Crores

Expected Team(s) : RCB, KXIP, MI, RR

2. KYLE JAMIESON - Kyle Jamieson is having arguably the greatest rookie year in cricketing history. From debuting against India across formats of the game, to picking up wickets at will and also being handy with the bat towards the crucial stages of the game, you name it, Jamieson has done it. It seems as if the 26 year-old was destined to play the IPL one day. He's solidified his place as a fast bowling all-rounder in the New Zealand team and will surely live up to his value for the team he gets to play for.

Expected Purchase Price Range : 4-7 Crores

Expected Team(s) : MI, RCB, KXIP, RR, DC

3. CAMERON GREEN - Young Cameron Green is also in the wanted list of several IPL teams. The hard-hitting batting all-rounder has attracted many a franchises with his splendid performances with the bat and ball. His gritty showcase at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy stand as testament for what is to be expected out of the Aussie.

At just 21 years of age, Green has a lot to offer to the cricketing world, and IPL is the biggest platform of them all.

Expected Purchase Price Range : 3-8 Crores

4. JASON ROY - Jason Roy comes with the reputation of being one of the best aggressive openers in franchise cricket. He is the right fit for teams looking for such brand of openers. His T20 records speak for himself as a strike rate of 143 and over 5800 T20 runs to his tally, the Englishman is certain to gain the interest of a lot of teams.

Expected Purchase Price Range : 3-5 Crores

Expected Team(s) : RCB, CSK, KKR, RR

5. DAWID MALAN -  Currently the No. 1 T20 batsman in the world, Dawid Malan's incredible run with the bat has led to him seeking IPL's attention. The Englishman is on a career high, which was evident with his formidable performance at the recently concluded England's Tour of South Africa. His run in the Big Bash League has also been decent. The 33 year-old's presence will certainly boost any team's top order as the franchises would surely be on the lookout to grab him.

Expected Purchase Price Range : 4-8 Crores

Expected Team(s) : CSK, KXIP, RR

6. GLENN MAXWELL - It wouldn't be wrong to consider Glenn Maxwell as the prodigal son of the IPL. His performance in the last season of the IPL was down right ugly, but his recent outings with the bat; be it for Australia or the Melbourne Stars in the BBL, perfectly defined what the "Big-Show" is all about. His brutal power hitting is second to none and the 32 year-old also provides part time off-break bowling. A legend of the T20 format, Glenn Maxwell promises to be an invaluable asset to any franchise.

Expected Purchase Price Range : 4-8 Crores

Expected Team(s) : RCB, CSK, RR

7. AARON FINCH - Ranked the No. 3 T20 Batsman in the world, Aaron Finch is arguably the hottest free agent in the batting sector. Finch has shown innumerable feats of brilliance with his bat over the years and continues to do so in modern day cricket. The Aussie was a part of the ICC Men's T20 Team of the decade, which shows just how big of a deal the opening batsman is in the T20 world. Despite his IPL career being full of ups and downs, Finchy will surely be in the wanted list of many IPL teams.

Expected Purchase Price Range : 2-6 Crores

It seems as if Smith, despite being one of the best batsmen of this generation hasn't cemented his legacy in the IPL yet. However, this doesn't change the fact as to what Smith brings to the table nor question his merit. His consistent batting and unusual yet innovative shots make Smith a luxury for any given team.
