IPL 2021 Suspended Due to Covid-19 Outbreak
Upon being hit hard by the Covid-19, the 14th Edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended for the forseeable future. News sources are reporting that it could be a one week precautionary break. The bio bubble burst has led to BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla announcing that the tournament has been postponed as of now. The tournament's cancelation is a precautionary measure to control the covid outbreak, looking at the safety and security of everyone involved in the IPL. Covid-19 hit the IPL during its inception when players and coaches namely Axar Patel (DC), Devdutt Padikkal (RCB), Kiran More (MI Staff) and others had been tested positive in early April. However, the pandemic hit the tournament hard yet again as KKR squad members including Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive yesterday.
